Urinary Catheter Course

The Urinary Catheter course provides the skills and knowledge to an individual who is required to replace and dispose of bags and monitor the health of people using indwelling and suprapubic catheters, which can be part of a general support worker role.

Unit Being Delivered

A Statement of Completion will be awarded to successful participants in this Urinary Catheters course.

This is a non-accredited course and will not be considered for nationally recognised qualifications. 

Important information prior to enrolment

COURSE DELIVERY

This course will be delivered in the workplace or at an Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO or Third party facility.

Face to Face – 2 hours (minimum) full face to face course

Individuals undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment tasks. These are detailed in the sections following.

  • Payment Terms – Payment for individual participants is upfront, group booking payment terms are based on agreement between the client and service provider.

 

No work placement will be required as part of this course.

What happens at the course?

LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Delivery of course information and learning activities.

Assessments conducted during face-to-face training session(s) include:

  • Performance tasks – Students will be required to demonstrate the replacing and disposing of catheter bags.
  • Documentation – Students will be required to complete a Catheter Care Log.
  • Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
